Description
The Viroid Flophouse was an exploration of playable art in an online gaming environment, which incorporated dance, motion tracking, streaming technologies and telematic performance, within the common theme of "virus."
It was a hybrid game/performance environment created by ADaPT (Association for Dance and Performance Telematics) which included among others Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ, USA), Nottingham Trent University (Nottingham, UK) and Waag Society for Old and New Media (Amsterdam, NL).
Each site functioned as a room in the "flophouse," in which on-site participants could interact with remote participants.
