Description
Sandy Speaks is an interactive chatbot built with AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language), created in response to the death of Sandra Bland in 2015. Sandy Speaks is inspired by language Bland used in a series of social media videos named Sandy Speaks. The artwork brings transparency to questions about police brutality, prison surveillance, and the death of Sandra Bland, while hitting the limitations of a AI's ability to reflect the presence of a Black American woman who was passionate about repairing relations between Black Americans and police, and ultimately died in jail after being arrested for a traffic stop.
