“This Tumblr commemorates the 2012 "Solo Jazz" meme. The Tumblr is of historical importance as it documents early use of the Jazz design in meme form, giving the 1990s touchstone a new life online. Most of the images on this Tumblr stemmed from a multi-day image editing session on dump.fm, where users enthusiastically added the Jazz design to everyday objects. Several of these images were created by users who have since passed away. Dump.fm users continued to use the design used over the next several months, as it permeated online culture. Use of the meme also led to the publication of the design's author: Gina Ekiss, who was heretofore anonymous. The Solo Jazz Tumblr continued to be updated until 2015, when the Solo corporation was acquired by Dart, which sent a cease-and-desist letter to Tumblr, which had just been acquired to Yahoo, de-listing the blog's URL.”
