From Rhizome Artbase

The swf file ,watussi, mashes up the last known recording of a African Watussi tribe with my own phone messages and a shortwave radio.
The phone messages clipping emulates the repetetive nature of the Watussi tribes chants employing the same timbre and syncopation.
The work was merged with great care and sonic observation.
This piece blends old world soundscapes with communication devices used in 21st century technology.
The collision provides surprising resonance and stain.
Unplanned rhyming and rhythmic balance prevails over the dissonance that would have been expected given the paramters of the work.
