In this piece, a looped clip from a famous American war epic appears as surveillance footage. In the style of seminal video works by Nauman or Wegman, a solitary individual in the studio/cell performs a repetitive act to mark time. Only here, these actions determine time - the clock displayed progresses only with the actions of our hero, one second per gesture. The image, initially live, grows less so as the scene progresses.
